Fin24 Article: South Africa Needs a “Paradigm Shift” to Eliminate Poverty

This week, South Africa’s National Planning Commission (NPC) presented a national development plan to President Jacob Zuma.

The plan centers around two goals: to eliminate poverty and to reduce economic inequality in South Africa. To accomplish these two goals, the plan calls for a “paradigm shift” where people become “…active champions of their own development, and that the government work effectively to develop people’s capabilities.”

Paradigm Shift goes to Zimbabwe!

Last month 15 volunteers in 3 vans with 2 trailers full of food and clothing drove for 7 hours from Johannesburg to Beitbridge, Zimbabwe. Their mission? To take the Paradigm Shift business training curriculum to nearly 40 Zimbabwean entrepreneurs all working to break the cycle of poverty in their lives.
