Paradigm Shift’s staff operate out of our offices in Colorado and Johannesburg. Our staff are as diverse as the entrepreneurs we serve and bring with them a range of skills and interests.
Jedd Schroy
Founder / Executive Director
At Paradigm Shift, Jedd oversees the organization on the international front, working closely with Paradigm Shift’s Board of Directors, US financial partners as well as South African churches and stakeholders. Jedd also directs all marketing, fundraising and finances for Paradigm Shift.
Jedd Schroy co-founded Paradigm Shift. He was previously an Investment Branch Manager at the full-service brokerage house Edward Jones. Jedd has also worked as the Director of Development for the National Association of Evangelicals and as the National Marketing Specialist for the American Institute of Architects. Jedd is an entrepreneur, having started and managed his own business. He is also an author and has been a guest speaker for the Carnegie Mellon Tepper School of Business’ MBA program.
Jedd holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and Business from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He also has his Series 7 credentials from the National Association of Securities Dealers.
Janelle Schroy
Founder / South Africa Project Director
At Paradigm Shift, Janelle directs the daily operations of the South Africa project, working with Paradigm Shift’s staff and Master Trainers and with South African partner church leaders on long-term planning.
Janelle Schroy co-founded Paradigm Shift. She has coordinated multiple international development projects for both United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Asian Development Bank. Janelle was previously a Project Manager at John Snow, Inc. and was a Master Trainer and Project Manager at Making Cents International. Janelle formerly served at the Fund for Peace in the Regional Responses to Internal War Program.
Janelle has a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science/International Affairs from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California.
Marisa Barnett
Director of the Paradigm Shift Shop
At Paradigm Shift Marisa is the Director of the Paradigm Shift Shop where she works with Paradigm Shift’s artisans and manages customer acquisition and relations both in South Africa and in the United States.
Marisa has years of experience in the legal field where she provided support to attorneys and paralegals at Spencer Law Firm and Clymer, Musser, Brown & Conrad, LLC. Marisa also spent several years as a personal assistant for the leader of an influential non-profit organization.
She is a graduate of Millersville University and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business.
Nick Nohling
Microcredit Coordinator
At Paradigm Shift, Nick provides support to Paradigm Shift’s partner churches’ microcredit programs and also works with Paradigm Shift’s Executive Director on developing relationships with and solidifying new church partnerships.
Nick Nohling has worked most recently at at Franklin Street Partners, a $2 billion dollar investment trust and advisory company. Formerly, he worked with the equity team at Citi Group in New York City.
Nick holds a Bachelor’s Degree in economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Kara DeCoste
US Office Manager
Kara works out of Paradigm Shift’s offices in Colorado where she manages the organization’s finances, banking and communications with financial and prayer partners who support the staff in South Africa.
Kara served as the Vice President of the Bond Guarantee Group for several years and worked as a Benefits Representative with The Christian & Missionary Alliance, managing financial accounts and insurance policies for missionaries and American pastors. Kara is a public notary, a licensed bond agent and holds a casualty insurance licence.
